Tunesdays Volume 6: Patio Jams

It’s finally here! Patio season is upon us. Between the torrential downpours and hailstorms, the sun and warm weather is making an appearance and it’s safe to say I’m thrilled. Something about having a couple of beverages and enjoying a delicious BBQ on the patio invokes that #goodvibesonly feeling and kicks off Summer the right way.

Without further adieu, here are some Patio Jams that take your al fresco adventures to new heights!

In The Summertime by Mungo Jerry

There is nothing better than spending a sunny Saturday afternoon with this tune to get you grooving. It’s a song that usually fills my summer days becauses it’s just fun and easy going, not to mention liable to get stuck in your head for hours on end.

Stuck in the Middle with You by Stealers Wheel

This one is a classic really. Something about it reminds me of nights with friends. It’s a song that can get you up and dancing or can offer some enjoyable background noise to your invigorating conversations, you know - with the clowns to the left of you, and jokers to the right...

Pictures of You by The Cure

I imagine you might be wondering what a song about heartbreak by a British rock band is doing on my patio playlist but the mood of this song emulates everything summer is - relaxing and sweet to listen to while you sip something sugary. Oddly enough, this might just be the most pleasant breakup song you’ve ever heard.

Cruel Summer by Bananarama

Smog and cottage-bound gridlock got you down? Bananarama feels you. In fact, this song is for just that! This tune is one you can’t get out of your head and if you’re not dancing along, you’re listening wrong. Plus, it’s BANANARAMA for god sakes, just listen to it. You’ll love it.

Saturday in the Park by Chicago

A 15 year old me accidentally downloaded this song for the bus ride on a school trip to Boston. Evidently, I got the band name wrong but it all worked out because I fell in love with this laid back, happiness inducing diddy that is just so satisfying.
