Sunday Round Up
It’s been a little hectic lately, friends!
With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it’s been hard to make time to sit down for a while and write. I just popped a loaf of banana bread into the oven and thought I better hop on the blog and get some shit done.
I’ve got a few links from around the web that I think you’re going to be about.
So let’s get into it shall we?
The NHL season is in full swing so for the love of the game, check out this piece from The New Yorker on the mysteries of athletic greatness - all about, you guess it, Wayne Gretzky.
We had a friend spend Thanksgiving with our family this year, and some of Christmas with us last year and something about making new traditions with your ‘chosen’ family was all kinds of heart warming.
My favourite part about closing the chapter on the year is making resolutions and setting goals for the New Year. That, and singing Auld Lang Syne at the top of my lungs while bawling profusely and swaying back and forth, arms linked in a circle with all my fave people.
This article from the Globe and Mail talks about the rather alarming epidemic where we find ourselves forgetting how to read, it’s eye opening, insightful and will leave you feeling challenged to retrain your brain to enjoy your bookwormish hobby.
A heartwarming piece about a first crush. Do you remember yours? Mine was Trent. We met in the sandbox at 7th Street School and shortly thereafter, he broke my heart when he and his family moved to Calgary. R U OUT THERE TRENT?!
Let me know if you check any of the links out! I’d love to discuss!
