Sunday Round Up
I’m back with another sunday round up after a couple of weeks off. I’ve been a little MIA and I have to apologize. Things get a little hectic this time of year. We’ve got birthdays and holiday schmoozing and general Saturday adventures leading to Sunday hangovers, so sue me.
That’s the funny thing about blogging, especially on a site that I run on my own. I don’t have to run my ideas by anyone, I can make content up as I please and talk about the things I love. Buuuuut on the other hand, if I’m not writing, no one else will and that leaves an obviously vulnerability in my internet persona - FOR SHAME (jokes). I don’t know friends… isn’t it better to live life a little less rigidly (read: less perfectly curated and posted at the most ideal time to get the most likes), even if that means that you’re not ALLLLLLWAYS showing up on a 6 inch screen in the palm of someone’s hand? I think so.
Anywho, enough about my wild antics, let’s get into the good stuff, shall we?
Speaking of things more important than likes on Instagram
I stumbled across this florist a couple of years ago and naturally fell in love, booked her for the wedding and now I can’t wait to see what she comes up with!
And while we’re on the topic of blogging, check out these tips on turning your passion into a career
This interesting piece on the new language of dieting - are we just incapable of avoiding fads and buzzwords when it comes to what we consume?
Are book clubs going by the wayside? Do people still read books? (I do, but not nearly as often as I’d like). Maybe Article Clubs are the new trend?
A bonus for this week - I stumbled across this post on Buzzfeed that raises some questions about Rachel Hollis (aka Girl Wash Your Face) and her integrity and authenticity, which begs the question - are we actually capable of differentiating curated authenticity for the purpose of boosting sales vs real life people that are truly inspirational? It’s getting a little dicey out there on the social platforms, I think.
So, do me a fave - after you read this (and check out anything that tickles your fancy), get off your phone and go try something new or bake some cookies and see if you can do it without telling all your followers about it (guilty as charged) - who doesn’t love a little intrigue, amirite?
Have a wicked week, talk soon!
