Restaurant Review: Marquee Steakhouse and Piano Lounge

On your first visit to Marquee Steakhouse and Piano Lounge in Milton, you’re likely to drive right by (I did). Situated in an unassuming street-side plaza, what Marquee lacks in curb appeal is more than made up for in its menu composition, live entertainment and outstanding service.
We arrived and were quickly seated at our table. We started out with a few of the specialty cocktails named after the likes of Miles Davis and John Coltrane, which were refreshing and delicious. Instantly we noticed that the atmosphere of Marquee far surpassed that of a big box chain steakhouse, as it was intimate and welcoming.
The Menu at Marquee is fluid and changes as each season passes. Our table tested out their Summer installment and as always, I was thoroughly impressed. I started with a Cream of Mushroom soup, which was earthy and flavourful. This, paired with the warm ciabatta rolls was the epitome of comfort food. For my main course I opted for the 10oz New York Striploin (rare) topped with Gruyere and Prosciutto. The steak was tender, with just the right amount of marbling throughout. The Gruyere added a nutty quality that was an interesting and delicious addition. The side of mashed red skinned potatoes and seasonal vegetables were great as well. Overall, my meal was outstanding and it was nothing less than I expected.
Our server was warm and welcoming and was knowledgeable about the menu and the specials for the day. She even took note of our table conversation, acknowledging the birthday we were there to celebrate and brought out complimentary homemade lemon blueberry cheesecake to top off our meal.
The entire experience was elevated by the live entertainment. A talented pianist/vocalist crooned hits ranging from Elton John to Ed Sheeran, creating a warm and romantic atmosphere.
With a menu full of options to please any taste, live entertainment to fuel the soul and rustic and romantic décor, Marquee should be your next go-to for date night, girl’s night out or celebratory dinner. You will not be disappointed.
