Feature Business: Mohawk Racetrack and Slots

If you’re looking for a change of pace on your next Saturday night outing, you should absolutely visit Mohawk Racetrack and Slots. Situated just north of Highway 401 on Guelph Line in Milton, Mohawk is the perfect spot just outside of town for a night of excitement.

What makes an outing at Mohawk different than anything else is the idea that you can make your experience anything you want it to be. You might choose to have dinner and drinks while you watch the races from the lounge area or maybe visit the lower level and try your luck at the slot machines or even sit trackside and cheer on your favourite competitor as they cross the finish line. You can dress up, wearing fascinators and khakis (think Kentucky Derby) or wear something more casual. Mohawk can cater to all sorts of people and your outing can be as extravagant as you desire, or not.

When betting on the races, a minimum bet of $2 is required but you can choose to wager more if you’re feeling particularly lucky. This also makes Mohawk a great option for those on a budget because you can choose to spectate only or bet what you’re comfortable spending. You could even have a night out at the races at no cost at all!

For August and September, races run Monday, Tuesday and Friday through Sunday. Some major races happening at Mohawk are the Canadian Pacing Derby and Metro Pace (September 3) and the Maple Leaf Trot and Canadian Trotting Classic (September 17).

Mohawk also offers various dining specials such as half price wings on Mondays, $35 Prix Fix menu on Thursdays and all-you-can-eat Italian buffet on Fridays.

Mohawk also offers free parking and is wheelchair accessible.

A night at the races is a great idea for a birthday celebration, a bachelor/bachelorette party or even a family outing (kids are allowed but you must be 18 or over to place bets).
